DIS 'N DAT / Cartoon of the day- Roy Delgado - 18190

I like cartoons about the lower rung of society, the destitute, the unlucky saps, the bums, the winos, the tramps, the homeless, the people who got the short end of the stick . . .  or THINK they got the short end of the stick . . . maybe it's because I've seen a lot of these people, or maybe it's because human behavior fascinates me . . . or maybe because I HIRED a few in my lifetime, and I found out that some, MORE than you would ever expect, were greater than they thought they were . . some were waiting for the teacher to arrive . . and I was THAT teacher that came along, it could have been JIM JONES, or VAN JONES for that matter . . .

It seems that you can catch a person in their life, when they are vulnerable and impressionable, especially when they are about to " give up " . . . and  along comes someone and hits their hot button, and they begin to BELIEVE . . . something happens, their self-esteem all of a sudden, is highly lifted . . . they FEEL better and for the first time, the reds are redder, the blues are bluer, the air is cleaner . . . you have someone that is is begging you, take me to the promised land, I believe you . . .

They almost seem to say: " I don't know what you're selling, but I WANT some ! "

These people became the best employees that I ever had. I guess I was actually running a cult, not a company.

Anyway, it was one HELLUVA ride, from October, 1975 to 2001 . . . I actually believed I could fly . . . I like the song . . .

" Believe you can, and you can,
Belief is one of the most powerful of all problem dissolvers.  When you believe that a difficulty can be overcome, you are more halfway to victory over it already. "

Norman Vincent Peale, 1898-1993
AMERICAN WRITER AND MINISTER

" Be careful what you believe. "

" Whether you believe you can do a thing
or believe you can't,
you are right. "

HENRY FORD, 1863-1947
AMERICAN CAR MANUFACTURER

You know, it's almost eerie . . . With an attitude like Henry Ford's . . . You are not really surprised that the company didn't need anybody elses help . . . FORD CO. has the right "stuff" !

Emerson had it right when he said:  " An institution is the lengthened shadow of one man. "
