My company, Delgado Signs of Woodbridge, Virginia
were awarded all of the signage for the first Starbucks Coffee Shop ( 1993 ) in the east coast. It was located in Washington, D.C. on Wisconsin Ave.
Our company went on to do 27 new Starbucks stores
located in Maryland, Virginia, Greenwich, CT. and one in Boston and one in Atlanta. The first store in Washington, D.C. was due completed right in the middle of " The Blizzard of '93.
I think the top brass from
Starbucks were impressed with our timely opening in the middle of a blizzard with no panic at the first store and "gave" us the next 27 as a gift, I don't know, but it was a pleasure doing business with such classy professional
people.
