Playboy cartoon - Roy Delgado

--------------------------------

MY INTERNET SERVICE HAS BEEN DOWN SINCE THE BIG STORM.  JUST CAME ALIVE YESTERDAY, SO SORRY I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO POST ANYTHING . . . SO, I'LL TRY TO CATCH UP AND DISPLAY LARGER BLOGS AND INFORMATION EVERY DAY.

MY STYLE IS SLIGHTLY CHANGING AND SIMPLIFYING WHERE THE LOOK OF " PETER PLUM " IS BECOMING MORE APPARENT.  BESIDES THE LESS LINES IT TAKES TO EXECUTE A DRAWING I LIKE THE EYES WITH THE LOOK OF HAROLD GRAY'S LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE, YOU KNOW . . . THE DOTS WITH THE LITTLE HOLES IN THEM .

----------------------------

This drawing appears on page 185 in the July 2012 issue of Playboy magazine.  A couple pages down is a good one by my collegue, V.Gene Meyers, of New Jersey and a couple pages down yet is another good water color cartoon by water color artist and friend Peter Hesse who recently turned 88, a retired advertising executive living in Colorado.

Peter Hesse, besides being magazine cartoonist publishes really great color water color sketches via note cards of Colorado historical buildings around the old parts of town and sells them all over in gift shops, etc.  When he had his advertising studio in the New York area, his advertising cartoons appeared in The New Yorker for his financial clients.  I remember seeing them and always thought he had a nice " New Yorker style", if there IS such a thing.

Got a call a couple days ago from Peter and his health is getting to the point where he finds it more difficult to draw cartoons and do his painting . . . If possible send a get well card to Peter at:  Peter Hesse, 1835 Cherry Street, Denver, Co, 80220.

I wish Peter the best.
